Priority areas:
Democratic Governance
UNDP assists Georgia in promoting legislative, executive and judicial reforms. UNDP’s programme for Democratic Governance provides support to key institutions in Georgia: the Parliament, the ministries of Justice and Finance, the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court, the Central Electoral Commission, and the Public Defender’s Office.
Economic Development

In responding to the Georgian government’s stated priorities for the country, UNDP continues to expand its programme for economic development. UNDP assists the government in developing new strategies for promoting sustainable economic growth. The programme focuses especially on building partnerships with the private sector and encourages new ways of involving business in national development.
Environment and Sustainable Energy
UNDP runs a programme to assist the Georgian government in fulfilling its environmental commitments. UNDP also promotes the use of local energy resources and the conservation of Georgia’s biodiversity.
Crisis Prevention and Recovery
In the crisis areas, UNDP works closely with people to address their social and economic needs. UNDP also assists the Interior Ministry of Georgia in adopting national strategies to effectively respond to natural and man-made disasters, such as earthquakes, floods, droughts, landslides, avalanches and technological disasters.
